System Check

Complete the Overall System Check with engine warm and running at idle. The temperature outside the vehicle should be above 60°F.

1. Set A/C Control Head Mode Selector to VENT, Blower Switch to OFF, and Temperature Selector to COLD.

^ Blower is off.
^ Small amount of air flows from heater outlet when vehicle is moving forward.

2. Set Mode Selector to MAX A/C, set the Temperature Selector to COLD.

^ Engine idle increases and compressor comes on.
^ Blower runs at low speed.
^ Air flows from Instrument Panel outlets.
^ Air from outlets gets colder.

3. Change Blower Switch from OFF to M1, from M1 to M2, and from M2 to HI.

^ Air flow increases each time switch is moved to higher position.
^ Cold air flows only from Instrument Panel outlets.

4. Set Mode Selector to NORM A/C, set Blower Switch to HI.

^ Cold, high-speed air flows from Instrument Panel outlets.

5. Set Mode Selector to BI-LEVEL A/C, Set Blower Switch to HI.

^ High-speed air flows from Instrument Panel outlets.
^ High-speed air flows from floor outlets.

6. Set Mode Selector to VENT, set Blower Switch to HI.

^ Engine idle decreases and compressor goes off.
^ High-speed outside air flows from Instrument Panel outlets.

7. Set Mode Selector to HEATER, set Temperature Selector to HOT, set Blower Switch to HI.

^ Warm, high-speed air flows from floor outlets.
^ No air flows from Instrument Panel outlets.
^ Small amount of air flows from windshield outlets and side window defroster outlets.

8. Set Mode Selector to DEF, set Temperature Selector to HOT.

^ Warm, high-speed air flows from windshield outlets.
^ No air flows from Instrument Panel outlets.
^ Small amount of air flows from floor outlets and side window defroster outlets.

9. Set Blower Switch to OFF.

^ Blower runs at LO speed.
