Some 1987-88 G-cars equipped with 5.0L (VIN H) engines may exhibit a slight amount of surge under certain conditions, when cruising or at light load in fourth gear (overdrive) at speeds of 45-55 mph with the torque converter locked. This condition may be addressed by installation of a new service calibration PROM, P/N 16139524.
