Oil Pan: Service and Repair
Oil Pan Installation:
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Engine from the vehicle. Refer to Service and Repair. Service and Repair
2. Oil pan bolts and studs.
3. Oil pan.
CLEAN
Sealing surfaces on the engine and oil pan.
CAUTION Before installing the oil pan, check that the seal surfaces on the pan, cylinder case, and front cover are clean and free of oil. Make sure that all RTV is removed from blind attaching holes.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. A 3 mm (1/8-inch) bead of RTV sealant (GM Part No. 1052366 or equivalent) on the entire oil pan sealing flange.
2. Oil pan to the cylinder block.
3. Bolts and studs.
Tighten
^ Bolts (35) to 14 Nm (10 ft. lbs.).
^ Bolts (36) to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
4. Engine. Refer to Service and Repair. Service and Repair
