Slapping Noise

1. Ensure valve clearances are satisfactory. Refer to specifications.
2. Check rocker arms for damage.
3. Check to ensure flywheel bolts are secure.
4. Check crankshaft and thrust bearing for wear and/or damage.
5. Check main bearing oil clearances.
6. Check connecting rod bearing and bushing oil clearances.
7. Ensure clearance between pistons and cylinder walls is satisfactory. Refer to specifications.
