Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

Fig. 10 Exhaust & Intake manifold removal:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove air cleaner assembly.
3. Disconnect heater pipe bracket, then the PCV pipe hose, Fig. 10.
4. Disconnect clips and wires from intake manifold.
5. Remove intake manifold retaining bolts, then the manifold. If intake manifold gasket replacement is required, the exhaust manifold must be removed. Refer to ``Exhaust Manifold, Replace'' for procedure.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Torque intake manifold bolts to values given in specifications at beginning of chapter.
