Backing Lamp Switch - Automatic Transmission

Column Shift






Removal

1. Disconnect wiring harness connectors at switch terminals.
2. Remove switch retaining screws and switch from must jacket.

Installation

1. Place gear selector in "NEUTRAL".
2. Align actuator on switch with hole in shift tube.
3. Position rearward portion of switch (connector side) to fit into cutout in lower jacket.
4. Push down on front of switch. The two tangs on housing back will snap into place in rectangular holes in jacket.
5. Adjust switch by moving gear selector to park. The main housing and the housing back should ratchet, providing proper switch adjustment.

Readjustment

1. With switch installed, move the housing all the way toward "LOW".
2. Repeat step 5 of installation procedure.

Floor Shift

Same as column shift except pinning and lever setting in "PARK" position.
