Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement (Right Hand Drive)
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement Intake Manifold Cover Replacement.
2. Remove as much power steering fluid from the power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
3. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
4. Remove the front compartment lower noise shield. Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive) Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (Rear Wheel Drive) .
5. Place drain pans under the vehicle as necessary.
6. Loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the power steering cooler hose (1) from the power steering fluid reservoir.
7. Loosen the hose clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering gear outlet hose from the power steering cooler hose.
8. Remove the power steering fluid cooler bracket bolt (1).
9. Loosen the hose clamps (1) and disconnect the power steering cooler hoses (2) from the power steering fluid cooler (3).
10. Remove the power steering cooler hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the power steering cooler hose in the vehicle.
2. Connect the power steering cooler hoses (2) to the power steering fluid cooler (3). Secure the hoses with the clamps (1).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
3. Install the power steering fluid cooler bracket bolt (1) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
4. Connect the power steering gear outlet hose to the power steering cooler hose. Secure the hose with the clamp (1).
5. Connect the power steering cooler hose (1) to the power steering fluid reservoir. Secure the hose with the clamp.
6. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding Service and Repair.
7. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle.
8. Remove the drain pans.
9. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement Intake Manifold Cover Replacement.
10. Install the front compartment lower noise shield. Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive) Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (Rear Wheel Drive) .
11. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
