Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement (Cooler to Power Steering Reservoir)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement (Service and Repair) or Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (Service and Repair).




3. Compress the clamp and disconnect the power steering cooler pipe/hose from the power steering reservoir.
4. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).




5. Remove the retaining clip (1) and disconnect the power steering cooler pipe/hose from the cooler.




6. Remove the 2 power steering pipe/hose routing bolts.
7. Remove the power steering cooler pipe/hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Position the power steering cooler pipe/hose to the vehicle.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the 2 power steering pipe/hose routing bolts and tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb in).




3. Connect the power steering cooler pipe/hose to the cooler and install the retaining clip (1).
4. Lower the vehicle.




5. Compress the clamp and connect the power steering cooler pipe/hose to the power steering reservoir.
6. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement (Service and Repair) or Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair).
8. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding (Service and Repair).
