Folding Top Stowage Compartment Closeout Panel Hinge Replacement - Front

Removal Procedure




1. Place the folding top in the down position.
2. Remove the storage compartment closeout panel. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Front Closeout Panel Replacement (Folding Top Stowage Compartment Front Closeout Panel Replacement).




3. Using an open-end wrench, remove the drive rods from the hinge.




4. Use a grease pencil to mark the location of the bolts (2) on the hinge and the bumpers (3) to the hinge.
5. Measure the distance from the hinge to the edge of the bumpers.
6. Loosen the hinge bumper jam nuts and remove the bumpers.
7. Remove the hinge bolts (2).
8. Remove the hinge from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the closeout panel hinge to the vehicle.
2. Loosely install the hinge bolts (2). Do NOT tighten.
3. Apply LOCTITE(TM) Blue, GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the bolts.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

4. Align the bolts to the alignment marks on the hinge and tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb in).
5. Loosely install the hinge bumpers (3). Do NOT tighten the bumper nuts.
6. Adjust the bumpers to the same distance from the hinge that you recorded earlier. Tighten the bumper jam nuts to 11 Nm (97 lb in).
7. Install the drive rods to the hinge.
8. Install the storage compartment closeout panel. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Front Closeout Panel Replacement (Folding Top Stowage Compartment Front Closeout Panel Replacement).
