Radiator Replacement - Charge Air Cooler

Tools required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure




1. Drain the charge air cooling system.
2. Using the J 38185, disengage clamp tension and disconnect the radiator inlet hose from the radiator.




3. Using the J 38185, disengage clamp tension and disconnect the radiator inlet hose from the pipe assembly.
4. Remove the radiator inlet hose.




5. Using the J 38185, disengage clamp tension and disconnect the radiator outlet hose from the pipe assembly.




6. Remove the radiator mounting bolts.
7. Remove the radiator.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the radiator.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the radiator mounting bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 5.4 N.m (48 lb in).




3. Using the J 38185, disengage clamp tension and connect the radiator outlet hose onto the radiator.
4. Install the radiator inlet hose.




5. Using the J 38185, disengage clamp tension and connect the radiator inlet hose onto the pipe assembly.
6. Using the J 38185, disengage clamp tension and connect the radiator inlet hose onto the pipe assembly.




7. Fill the charge air cooling system.
