Crankshaft Balancer Replacement

Tools Required

EN-48018 Flywheel Holding Tool

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the supercharger drive belt (3).
2. Remove the air conditioning, power steering, and water pump drive belt (2).
3. Remove the generator drive belt (1).
4. Remove the engine cooling fan assembly.
5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.




6. Remove the transmission bell housing inspection hole cover.
7. Install the EN-48018 flywheel holding tool as shown.
8. Remove the front air deflector.
9. Remove the charge air cooler cooling pump and position the hoses aside.




10. Remove the crankshaft balancer (2).
11. Ensure that you do not lose the oil pump drive to crankshaft balancer friction washer (3) that may come off with the balancer.
12. Clean and inspect the crankshaft balancer.

Installation Procedure




1. Ensure that the oil pump drive to crankshaft balancer friction washer (3) is installed.
2. Install the crankshaft balancer (2).




3. Install the charge air cooler cooling pump and hoses.
4. Remove the EN-48018 flywheel holding tool.
5. Install the transmission bell housing inspection hole cover.
6. Install the front air deflector.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Install the engine cooling fan assembly.
9. Install the generator drive belt (1).
10. Install the air conditioning, power steering, and water pump drive belt (2).
11. Install the supercharger drive belt (3).
12. Fill the charge air cooling system.
