Supercharger Replacement

- EN 47833 Supercharger Service Holding Fixture

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the hood.
2. Remove the cross vehicle brace.
3. Remove the engine sight shield.
4. Remove the wiper arm assemblies.
5. Remove the air inlet grille.
6. Remove the wiper motor module.
7. Remove the air inlet housing front panel.
8. Remove the front and rear supercharger inlet duct assemblies.
9. Drain the charge air cooling system. Refer to PSD SIE TITLE Error: SIE linked to empty Cell ID 131995 .





10. Remove the front portion of the supercharger front manifold (2). It is not necessary to remove the hoses from the manifold. Position the hoses with manifold aside. Refer to PSD SIE TITLE Error: SIE linked to empty Cell ID 144938 .





11. Remove the fuel injector rail assembly (1).





12. Disconnect the throttle body electrical connector (3).
13. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve electrical connector (7).





14. Disconnect the supercharger bypass regulator solenoid valve electrical connector (3).





15. Disconnect the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor vacuum line (2) from the supercharger.
16. Disconnect the supercharger intake air temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector.





17. Disconnect the supercharger inlet absolute pressure (SIAP) sensor vacuum line fitting (1) from the rear of the supercharger. Position the sensors, vacuum lines, and wire harness aside.





18. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube fitting (1) from the right camshaft cover.
19. Remove the supercharger drive belt.





20. Install the EN-47748 (1-5) to the supercharger.





21. Install an engine hoist to the EN-47748 .
22. Remove the supercharger.





23. Install the EN-47833 (1) to the supercharger while the supercharger is suspended by the engine hoist.
24. Place the supercharger on a workbench and remove the engine hoist.
25. If replacing the supercharger, transfer the necessary parts.
26. Remove the supercharger gaskets from the engine.
27. Clean and inspect the supercharger. Refer to Supercharger Cleaning and Inspection .
28. Clean and inspect the supercharger mating surface on the engine.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the new supercharger gaskets to the engine.





2. Install the appropriate size guide pins (1, 2) from the EN 46109 alignment pin set to the engine as shown.





3. If previously removed, install the EN-47748 to the supercharger.
4. Install an engine hoist to the EN-47748 and raise the supercharger off the workbench.
5. Remove the EN-47833 from the supercharger.
6. Inspect the gasket surface on the supercharger and clean as necessary.





7. Ensure that all wiring and vacuum lines are positioned aside and install the supercharger to the engine.
8. Remove the engine hoist and the EN-47748 .
9. Remove the EN 46109 alignment pins.

10. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Install the supercharger bolts.
^ Tighten the supercharger bolts to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.).





11. Install the supercharger drive belt.
12. Connect the PCV tube fitting (1) to the right side camshaft cover.





13. Connect the SIAP sensor vacuum line fitting (1) to the rear of the supercharger.





14. Connect the supercharger IAT sensor electrical connector.
15. Connect the MAP sensor vacuum line fitting (2) to the supercharger.





16. Connect the supercharger bypass regulator solenoid valve electrical connector (3).





17. Connect the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve electrical connector (7).
18. Connect the throttle body electrical connector (3).





19. Install the fuel injector rail assembly (1).





20. Install the front portion of the supercharger front manifold (2). Refer to PSD SIE TITLE Error: SIE linked to empty Cell ID 144938 .
21. Install the front and rear supercharger inlet duct assemblies.
22. Install the air inlet housing front panel.
23. Install the wiper motor module.
24. Install the air inlet grille.
25. Install the wiper arm assemblies.
26. Install the engine sight shield.
27. Install the cross vehicle brace.
28. Install the hood.
29. Fill the charge air cooling system with coolant and check for leaks. Refer to PSD SIE TITLE Error: SIE linked to empty Cell ID 131995.
