Air Injection Pump: Service and Repair

SECONDARY AIR INJECTION (AIR) PUMP REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the front air deflector.
2. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector (1) from the secondary air injection (AIR) pump.




3. Disconnect the AIR pump inlet hose quick connect fitting from the AIR pump.




4. Disconnect the AIR pump outlet hose quick connect fitting from the AIR pump.




5. Remove the AIR pump bolt.




6. Lift up and pull out in order to remove the AIR pump from the cradle bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Align and install the AIR pump integral nuts to the holes in the cradle bracket and push the pump down.




2. Install the AIR pump bolt.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).




3. Connect the AIR pump outlet hose quick connect fitting to the AIR pump.




4. Connect the AIR pump inlet hose quick connect fitting to the AIR pump.




5. Connect the engine harness electrical connector (1) to the AIR pump.
6. Install the front air deflector.
