Oil Pan Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Drain the engine oil.
2. Remove the front exhaust manifold pipe.
3. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector (2) from the oil level sensor.





4. Loosen the oil pan bolts.

Important: The oil pan gasket is reusable unless damaged. Do not remove the gasket from the oil pan groove unless replacement is required.

5. Remove the oil pan.





6. Remove the oil level sensor (1), if necessary.
7. Clean and inspect the oil pan, if necessary.

Installation Procedure





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

1. Install the oil level sensor (1), if necessary.
Tighten the sensor to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).





2. Position the oil pan to the lower crankcase and finger start the oil pan bolts.





3. Tighten the oil pan bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts a first pass to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).
^ Tighten the bolts a final pass to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.)





4. Connect the engine harness electrical connector (2) to the oil level sensor.
5. Install the front exhaust manifold pipe.
6. Fill the engine oil.
