Door Switch: Service and Repair

BEZEL REPLACEMENT - FRONT DOOR SWITCH

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the door trim panel.
2. Remove the retainer screws from the back of the door trim panel.
3. Remove the upper trim from the door.




4. Remove the energy absorber from the door panel.
5. Remove the 4 retaining screws from the rear of the armrest and 1 screw from the forward end of the armrest assembly.




6. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the armrest assembly.




7. Remove the front door switch assembly from the pocket in the door trim panel.

IMPORTANT: Use care when removing and installing the switch bezel assembly, because the bezel is easily damaged. Prior to removal, apply duct tape to protect the finish.

8. Disconnect the door switch electrical connector.




9. Remove the door switch assemblies from the door switch bezel.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the door switch assemblies to the door switch bezel. Push to engage the switch to the bezel.
2. Connect the door switch electrical connector.




3. Install the front door switch assembly to the pocket in the door trim panel.
4. Remove any protective tape prior to installation of the armrest.




5. Connect the electrical connector to the armrest assembly.
6. Install the 4 retaining screws to the rear of the armrest and 1 screw to the forward end of the armrest assembly.




7. Install the energy absorber to the door panel.
8. Install the upper trim to the door.
9. Install the retainer screws to the back of the door trim panel.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the screws to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

10. Install the door trim panel.
