Door Latch Release Switch Replacement - Passenger Side



DOOR LATCH RELEASE SWITCH REPLACEMENT - PASSENGER SIDE

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the door trim panel.

IMPORTANT: When removing the door latch release switch, place the ignition switch in the OFF position.




2. Remove the inner energy absorber from the door panel.
3. Remove 4 retaining screws from the rear of the armrest.
4. Remove 1 retaining screw from the forward end of the armrest assembly.




5. Disconnect the armrest wire harness and remove the armrest assembly.




6. Remove the armrest pull trim cover. Pull to disengage the retainers.
7. Remove the retaining screws from the trim cover applique.
8. Remove the applique from the armrest.




9. Remove the door latch release switch from the armrest trim cover applique.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the door latch release switch to the armrest trim cover applique.




2. Install the applique to the armrest.
3. Install the retaining screws to the trim cover applique.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Tighten the screws to 1.9 Nm (17 lb in).

4. Install the trim cover to the armrest. Push on the armrest to engage the retainers.




5. Connect the wire harness to the door armrest assembly.
6. Install the armrest to the door trim panel. Secure the armrest with 4 retaining screws at the rear and 1 screw at the forward end of the armrest assembly.

Tighten the screws to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




7. Install the inner energy absorber to the door panel.
8. Install the door trim panel.
