Touch Pad/Electric Release - Door Outside
TOUCH PAD/ELECTRIC RELEASE - DOOR OUTSIDE
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
This procedure covers the removal of either the driver or the passenger door release electric touch pad.
1. Open the door by using the touch pad or the floor mounted actuator.
2. Remove the fasteners (3) from the touch pad (1).
3. Remove the touch pad from the mounted position.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector (2).
5. Remove the touch pad.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the touch pad electrical connector (2).
2. Position the touch pad onto the door.
3. Install the fasteners (3).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten the fasteners to 2 Nm (18 lb in)
4. Verify the operation of the electric touch pad door release.
