Power Door Lock Switch Replacement - Passenger Front
POWER DOOR LOCK SWITCH REPLACEMENT - PASSENGER FRONT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the door trim panel.
IMPORTANT: When removing the power door lock switch, place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
2. Remove the retainer screws from the back of the upper trim panel.
3. Remove the upper trim from the door.
4. Remove the inner energy absorber from the door panel.
5. Remove 4 retaining screws from the rear of the armrest.
6. Remove 1 retaining screw from the forward end of the armrest assembly.
7. Disconnect the armrest wire harness and remove the armrest assembly.
8. Remove the power door lock switch assembly from the pocket in the door trim panel.
IMPORTANT: Use care when removing the power window switch assembly, because the mirror, the window, and the applique to the door lock switch plate can be easily damaged. Apply duct tape to protect the finish.
9. Disconnect the wire harness to the power door lock switch.
10. Remove the power door lock switch from the armrest switch plate applique.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the power door lock switch to the armrest switch plate applique. Push to engage the switch to the applique.
2. Connect the wire harness to the door lock switch assembly.
3. Install the lock switch assembly into the pocket in the door trim panel.
4. Remove any protective tape.
5. Connect the wire harness to the door armrest assembly.
6. Install the armrest to the door trim panel. Secure the armrest with 4 retaining screws at the rear and 1 screw at the forward end of the armrest assembly.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten the screws to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
7. Install the inner energy absorber to the door panel.
8. Install the upper trim to the door.
9. Install the retainers at the back of the door trim panel.
Tighten the retainers to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
10. Install the door trim panel.
