Cylinder Head Replacement - Right
Removal Procedure





1. Remove the valve rocker arms and pushrods.
2. Remove the intake manifold.
3. Remove the engine coolant air bleed pipe and covers.
4. Remove the exhaust manifold.
5. Remove the oil level indicator tube.
6. Remove the negative battery cable from the right cylinder head.





7. Important: The cylinder head bolts are NOT reusable.

Remove the cylinder head bolts.

Notice: After removal, place the cylinder head on two wood blocks to prevent damage to the sealing surfaces.

8. Remove the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Removal - Right.





9. Remove the cylinder head gasket.
10. Discard the gasket.
11. Discard the cylinder head bolts.
12. Clean and inspect the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Cleaning and Inspection.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the right cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Installation - Right.
2. Install the negative battery cable to the right cylinder head.





3. Install the oil level indicator tube.
4. Install the exhaust manifold.
5. Install the engine coolant air bleed pipe.
6. Install the intake manifold.
7. Install the valve rocker arms and pushrods.
