Hinge Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid

Removal Procedure

1. Open the rear compartment.
2. Using a wax pencil, mark the nut and the bolt locations on both the rear compartment lid and the vehicle body sides of the hinge being replaced.
3. Remove the strut rod on the side of the hinge being replaced. refer to Strut Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Coupe/Sedan) (Service and Repair)




4. Remove the nuts that secure the rear compartment lid hinge to the rear compartment lid.




5. Remove the bolts that secure the rear compartment lid hinge to the vehicle body.
6. Remove the rear compartment lid hinge.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the rear compartment lid hinge.

Notice: refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the bolts in order to secure the rear compartment lid hinge to the vehicle body.

Tighten the fasteners to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).





3. Install the fasteners in order to secure the rear compartment lid hinge to the rear compartment lid.

Tighten the fasteners to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

4. Install the rear compartment lid strut rod. refer to Strut Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Coupe/Sedan) (Service and Repair) .
5. Install the rear compartment lid. refer to Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear (Service and Repair) .
6. Check and adjust the rear compartment lid.
7. Close the rear compartment.
