Head Restraint Motor Replacement - Front Seat

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to SIR Caution.
1. Remove the seat assembly. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket (Seat Replacement - Front Bucket).
2. Remove the head restraint. Refer to Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat (Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat).
3. Remove the seatback trim cover (7). Refer to Seat Back Panel Replacement - Front (Seat Back Panel Replacement - Front).
4. Remove the seat back cover and pad. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front (Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front).
5. Remove the seat back frame. Refer to Seat Back Frame Replacement - Front (Seat Back Frame Replacement - Front).




6. Remove the block (2) from the lower seat frame (1).




7. Using a flat-bladed tool, disengage the retainer lock from the head restraint/power actuator assembly.





Important: Ensure the electrical connector does not catch on the inner seat back frame upon the head restraint/power actuator assembly removal.


8. Firmly hold the seat back frame (1) pull outward the power actuator assembly (2).
9. Remove the power actuator assembly from the seat back frame.



Installation Procedure





1. Feed the wire harness down through the seatback frame.
2. Install the head restraint/power actuator assembly (2).
3. Carefully apply pressure to the head restraint/power actuator assembly in order to secure the retainer locks (3) to the seat back frame (1).





Important: Ensure the holes are aligned for the block (2) in the seat back frame (1).


4. Install the seat back frame retaining block.
5. Ensure the electrical harness is not pinched and moves freely within the block.




6. Install the seat back frame. Refer to Seat Back Frame Replacement - Front (Seat Back Frame Replacement - Front).
7. Install the seat back cover and pad. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front (Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front).
8. Install the seatback trim cover. Refer to Seat Back Panel Replacement - Front (Seat Back Panel Replacement - Front).
9. Install the head restraint. Refer to Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat (Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat).
10. Install the seat assembly. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket (Seat Replacement - Front Bucket).
