Hood Hinge Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the hood.
2. Using a wax pencil, mark the location of the upper and/or lower hood hinge on the underside of the hood and on the fender.

Notice: Refer to Tape Corners of Panel Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement (Service and Repair).




4. Remove the fasteners (2) securing the upper hood hinge (3) to the hood (1).
5. Remove the upper hood hinge (3) from the hood (1).




6. Remove the fasteners (2) securing the lower hood hinge (3) to the body.
7. Remove the lower hood hinge (3) from the body.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the lower hood hinge (3) to the body.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the fasteners (2) in order to secure the lower hood hinge (3) to the body.

Tighten the fasteners (2) to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).





3. Install the upper hood hinge (3) to the hood (1).
4. Install the fasteners (2) in order to secure the upper hood hinge (3) to the hood (1).

Tighten the fasteners to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

5. Install the hood to the vehicle. Refer to Hood Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Close the hood.
