4. Rear Housing Disassemble

Rear Housing Disassemble





1. Remove the rear oil seal (1) from the rear housing.
2. Remove the speed sensor ring (2) located under the seal.

Important: The plug is under spring pressure, ensure that the plug does not fly out under spring force, when plug is unscrewed.





3. Remove the locking lever screw plug (1) and spring (2) from the rear housing.

Important: As the allen bolt (6) is removed, support the gear shift selector rod bushing (1) against rotational spring force.





4. Remove the allen bolt (6), it may be necessary to heat the bolt to loosen sealer. Remove the roller (5), spring guide (4), bushing (3), spring (2) and gear selector rod bushing (1).





5. Remove the five bolts (1) holding the rear bearing plate and locking lever support (2).

Important: Do not remove the rear mainshaft bearing unless it needs to be replaced.





6. Heat the rear housing to 80°C (176°F).





7. Use a tube and a press to remove the bearing.

Important: It may be necessary to heat the housing area to 80°C (176°F) to remove the cup.





8. Remove the counter gear bearing cup from the housing.
