Upper Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Rear

Removal Procedure
1. Loosen the fuel filler cap in order to relieve the system pressure.





2. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the coil pack (1).
3. Disconnect the EVAP quick connect fitting.





4. Remove the heated oxygen sensor connector (1) from the bracket (3).





5. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation dirty air hose retainer (2) from the fuel pipe.





6. Remove the bolt (6) securing the following to the crankcase vent housing (4):
^ The heated oxygen sensor connector bracket (5)
^ The EVAP canister purge valve bracket (1)

7. Position the EVAP canister purge valve assembly rearward, away from the engine.





8. Remove the rear cover (1) from the engine.

Installation Procedure





1. Slide the rear cover (1) into position, aligning the following:
^ The notch at the bottom of the cover (1) with the water crossover pipe plug (2).
^ The notch at the bottom of the cover (1) with the water crossover fitting (3).
^ The alignment hole (5) in the cover (1) with the fuel pressure regulator clamp bolt (4).






2. Install the bolt (6) securing the following to the crankcase vent housing (4):

^ The heated oxygen sensor connector bracket (5)
^ The EVAP canister purge valve bracket (1)
Tighten the EVAP canister purge valve bracket bolt to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).





3. Connect the crankcase ventilation dirty air hose retainer (2) to the fuel pipe.





4. Install the heated oxygen sensor connector (1) to the bracket (3).
5. Connect the EVAP quick connect fitting.





6. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the coil pack (1).
7. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
