Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - LeftRemoval Procedure
1. Remove the oil filler spout by unlocking the tab and twisting counterclockwise.
2. Disconnect the following from the remote power steering fluid reservoir (1):
^ The vacuum brake booster hose
^ The wiring harness (2)
3. Disconnect the vacuum brake booster hose from the vacuum source.
4. Remove the remote power steering fluid reservoir mounting bolts (1, 3) ONLY.
5. Position the reservoir forward away from the cam cover.
6. Disconnect the following from the front of the throttle body heater inlet hose/pipe bracket:
^ The Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor connector
^ The left knock sensor connector (1)
^ The vacuum hoses
7. Remove the left cover (1) from the cam cover (3).
Installation Procedure
Important:
^ Ensure the flange at the top edge of the cover (1) is upward against the intake manifold.
^ Ensure the vacuum pipe and sensor leads do not become trapped under the cover (1).
1. Fully seat the left cover (1) over the following:
^ The cam cover (3)
^ The throttle body heater inlet hose/pipe (2)
2. Install the remote power steering fluid reservoir mounting bolts (1, 3).
^ Tighten the remote power steering fluid reservoir to intake plenum mounting bolts (1) to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.).
^ Tighten the remote power steering fluid reservoir to cylinder head mounting bolt (3) to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
Important: Ensure the cover insulation does not become trapped under the oil filler spout.
3. Install the oil filler spout under the cover by twisting clockwise and snapping in place.
4. Connect the following to the remote power steering fluid reservoir (1):
^ The vacuum brake booster hose
^ The wiring harness (2)
5. Connect the following to the front of the throttle body heater inlet hose/pipe bracket:
^ The Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor connector
^ The left knock sensor connector (1)
^ The vacuum hoses
6. Connect the vacuum brake booster hose to the vacuum source.
