Oil Cooler Line Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the oil filter adapter.





2. Remove the following from the engine block:
^ The oil cooler outlet fitting (1)
^ The oil cooler inlet fitting (2)

3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Remove the following components according to the RPO code:
^ LHD
- The wiper motor module.
^ RHD
- The air inlet grill panel.
- The fasteners securing the front air inlet panel assembly to the battery tray and cowl.
- The front air inlet panel assembly from the vehicle.

5. Remove the water crossover.





6. Remove the following from the engine oil cooler:
^ The oil cooler inlet fitting
^ The oil cooler outlet fitting





7. Note the positioning of the 4 seals.
8. Remove the oil cooler lines from the engine.

Installation Procedure
1. Position the oil cooler lines to the engine.






Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the oil cooler inlet and outlet fittings to the engine oil cooler. Use 4 new seals.
^ Tighten the oil cooler inlet fitting to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
^ Tighten the oil cooler outlet fitting to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).

3. Install the water crossover.
4. Raise and support the vehicle.





5. Install the oil cooler inlet (2) and outlet fittings (1) to the engine block.
^ Tighten the oil cooler inlet fitting (2) to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
^ Tighten the oil cooler outlet fitting (1) to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).

6. Install the oil filter adapter.
7. Install the following components according to the RPO code:
^ LHD
- The wiper motor module.
^ RHD
- Position the front air inlet panel assembly to the battery tray and cowl.
- Install the fasteners securing the front air inlet panel assembly to the battery tray and cowl.
Tighten the front air inlet panel assembly fasteners to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
- The air inlet grill panel.
