Instrument Panel Compartment - Replacement



Compartment Replacement - IP

Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to SIR Handling Caution.





1. Open the IP storage compartment door.
2. Remove the Audio Visual (A/V) adapter from the instrument panel (IP) storage compartment, if equipped. Refer to Audio/Video Wiring Harness Replacement.
3. Remove the IP compartment lamp. Refer to IP Storage Compartment Lamp Replacement.
4. Lift the IP storage compartment door slightly and twist the compensator rod 1/4 turn in order to disengage the end of the compensator rod from the IP storage compartment door.




5. Remove the screws (1) from the IP storage compartment bin.
6. Partially remove the IP storage compartment from the IP assembly.
7. Disconnect the electrical connectors and guide the IP storage compartment lamp lens/connector out of the opening in the IP storage compartment.
8. Remove the IP storage compartment.



Installation Procedure





1. When installing a new IP storage compartment the original lock cylinder will need to transferred to the new IP storage compartment. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - IP Compartment Door (Service and Repair).
2. Partially install the IP storage compartment to the IP.
3. Connect the electrical connections and guide the IP storage compartment lamp through the opening in the IP storage compartment.
4. Install the IP storage compartment to the IP.
5. Install the IP compartment lamp. Refer to IP Storage Compartment Lamp Replacement.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

6. Install the screws (1) that retain the IP compartment to the IP.

Tighten the screws to 1.5 N.m (14 lb in).

7. Install the A/V adapter, if equipped. Refer to Audio/Video Wiring Harness Replacement.




8. lift the IP storage compartment door in order to install the compensator rod to the IP compartment door.
Twist the compensator rod 1/4 turn, in order to secure the compensator rod to the door.
9. Inspect the IP storage compartment for proper operation.
