Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the front bucket seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket) in Seats.
2. Remove the center console. Refer to Console Replacement (UV8) (Console Replacement (With RPO Code UV8))Console Replacement (w/o UV8) (Console Replacement (Without RPO Code UV8)) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
3. Remove the windshield garnish molding. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement (Standard) (Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement (Standard)).
4. Remove the center pillar trim. Refer to Center Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement (Center Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement).
5. Remove the sail panels. Refer to Sail Panel Replacement (Standard) (Sail Panel Replacement (Standard)).
6. Remove the door opening weather-strips in the door openings.

Rear Door Weatherstrip Replacement. Rear Door Weatherstrip Replacement
7. Remove the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement (Service and Repair).
8. Remove the overhead console. Refer to Roof Console Replacement (Roof Console Replacement).
9. Remove the rearview mirror. Refer to Inside Rearview Mirror Replacement (Inside Rearview Mirror Replacement) in Stationary Windows.
10. Pull the door opening moldings down to clear headliner.
11. Remove the rear quarter courtesy lamp bezels. Refer to Roof Rail Rear Courtesy Lamp Replacement.
12. Remove the assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement (Service and Repair).
13. Disconnect the headliner wiring harness connector.
14. Open the wire harness retainers and remove the harness.
15. Pull the headliner down in order to release the headliner from the cardboard roof dampener.
Notice: Use care when removing or installing the headliner. Excessive bending will damage the headliner.
16. Remove the headliner through the front passenger door opening.
Installation Procedure
Important: Gluing the headliner to the cardboard roof insulator during installation is not required.
1. Load the headliner into the vehicle through the front passenger door opening.
2. With a helper, raise the headliner into position.
3. Install the assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Install the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Install the windshield pillar garnish molding. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement (Standard) (Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement (Standard)).
6. Install the center pillar garnish molding. Refer to Center Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement (Center Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement).
7. Connect the headliner wiring harness connector.
8. Route and secure the wiring harness in the wiring harness retainers.
9. Install the sail panel. Refer to Sail Panel Replacement (Standard) (Sail Panel Replacement (Standard)).
Important: Ensure that the inside lip of the door opening weather-strip is properly seated to close out the headliner, sail panel and pillar garnish moldings.
10. Install the door opening weather-strips in the door openings.
11. Install the overhead console. Refer to Roof Console Replacement (Roof Console Replacement).
12. Install the rear quarter courtesy lamp bezels. Refer to Roof Rail Rear Courtesy Lamp Replacement.
13. Install the rear view mirror. Refer to Inside Rearview Mirror Replacement (Inside Rearview Mirror Replacement) in Stationary Glass.
14. Install the center console. Refer to Console Replacement (UV8) (Console Replacement (With RPO Code UV8))Console Replacement (w/o UV8) (Console Replacement (Without RPO Code UV8)) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
15. Install the front bucket seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket) in Seats.
