Shift Control Lever ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Remove the console.
2. Remove the rear air duct front support nuts (1).
3. Remove the console rear support nuts (2).
4. Remove the supports (4).
5. Slide the air duct rearward to remove.
6. Disconnect the automatic transmission control electrical connector.
7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
8. Remove the shift control linkage from the shift lever.
9. Lower the vehicle.
10. Drill out the 5 rivets (2) attaching the control from the body.
11. Remove the automatic transmission control (1) from body.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the automatic transmission control (1)) to body
2. Install the 5 rivets (2) attaching control to body.
3. Raise the vehicle.
4. Install the shift control linkage to the shift lever.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Connect the automatic transmission control electrical connector.
7. Install the rear air duct by sliding forward.
8. Install the console rear support (4).
9. Install the console assembly.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
10. Install the rear air duct front support nuts (1).
^ Tighten the rear air duct front support nuts (1) to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).
11. Adjust the shift linkage.
