Exhaust Heat Shield ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Support the exhaust system.
3. Remove the resonator insulator hangers.
4. Remove the right and the left muffler insulator hangers.
5. Lower the exhaust system with the support to access the exhaust heat shield nuts.
6. Remove the heat shield nuts.
7. Remove the heat shield.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the heat shield.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the heat shield nuts to the heat shield.
Tighten the heat shield nuts to 2 Nm (18 inch lbs.).
3. using the support raise the exhaust system to the original position.
4. Install the right and the left muffler insulator hangers.
5. Install the resonator insulator hangers.
6. Remove the support from the exhaust system.
7. Inspect the exhaust system clearances.
8. Lower the vehicle.
