Cooling Fan and Motor Replacement -
Auxiliary


Removal Procedure

Caution:
- An electric fan under the hood can start up even when the engine is not running and can injure you. Keep hands, clothing and tools away from any underhood electric fan.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Recover the refrigerant.
3. Remove the A/C condenser.
4. Disconnect the auxiliary fan electrical connectors.





5. Tilt the fans rearward to unseat the upper retainers (2).
6. Remove the fans from the radiator support.





7. Remove the fan blade clips (1).
8. Remove the fan blades.
9. Remove the fan motor bolts.
10. Remove the fan motors from the fan shrouds.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the fan motors to the fan shrouds.
2. Install the fan motor bolts until fully seated and not stripped.
3. Install the fan blades.





4. Install the fan blade retainer clips (1).





5. Install the fans (1,3) to the radiator support:
6. Tilt the fans forward to seat in the upper retainers (2).
7. Connect the auxiliary fan electrical connectors.
8. Install the A/C condenser.
9. Connect the negative battery cable.
10. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system.
