Front Side Door Window Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement () .
3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement Service and Repair
4. Remove the inner belt molding. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement (Door Window Sealing Strip) .

Caution: Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the driver's door. When operated, the Express Down Feature allows the door window to drop very quickly, without stopping, which could cause personal injury.

5. Reconnect the power window switch and module.
6. Raise the window to the full-up position.
7. Tape the window in place.

Caution: When working with any type of glass or sheet metal with exposed or rough edges, wear approved safety glasses and gloves in order to reduce the chance of personal injury.





8. Loosen the window clamp attachment bolts four revolutions.
9. Lower the regulator clamps (2) to the full down position.




10. Remove the window from the door in the following order:

1. While supporting the window through the access hole of the inner panel, remove the tape holding the window up.
2. Lower the window slightly.
3. Tilt the window downward at the front.
4. Pull upward on the rear edge of the window.
5. Pull the window up and out of the door from the outer side of the window opening.




Installation Procedure





1. Install the window into the door in the following order:

1. Carefully lower the front edge of the window into the door from the outer side of the window opening.
2. Position the rear edge of the window downward
3. Raise the window to the full up position.
4. Tape the window in place.






Important: Ensure that the rubber insulators are properly attached to the window regulator clamps.


2. Carefully raise the window regulator clamps (2) to the full up position, engaging the window (1).
3. Remove the tape from the window.
4. Complete the following to properly position the window:

1. Lower the window approximately two inches.
2. Seat the window fully rearward against the center pillar.
3. Adjust the window forward 2 mm to 3 mm (5/64 in to 1/8 in).
4. Raise the window to the full up position.


Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

5. Set the glass with the clamp bolts.

Tighten the window clamp bolts to 10.5 N.m (93 lb in).

6. Lower the window (1) to the full down position.
7. Disconnect the power window switch and module.
8. Install the inner belt molding. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Inner Sealing Strip Replacement (Door Window Sealing Strip) .
9. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement Service and Repair
10. Install the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement () .
11. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
