Secondary AIR Injection Control Pipe ReplacementREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the vacuum connections from the AIR check valve.
2. Loosen and lower the pinch clamp holding the AIR exhaust hose to the front AIR check valve.
3. Remove the nuts and the bolt (3) retaining the AIR check valve bracket to the engine.
4. Remove the nuts retaining the AIR check valve (2) to exhaust manifold pipe to the exhaust manifold (6).
5. Remove the exhaust manifold pipe (1) from the AIR check valve (2).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service and Precautions.
1. Install the exhaust manifold pipe (1) to the front AIR check valve (2).
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
2. Install the exhaust manifold pipe (1), gasket, and retaining nuts (5) to the exhaust manifold (6).
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
3. Install the bolt and nuts retaining the AIR check valve bracket to the engine.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts and the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
4. Install the AIR exhaust hose and clamp assembly to the AIR check valve.
5. Reconnect the AIR vacuum connections.
