Defroster Grille Replacement

Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer toSIR Handling Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disable the SIR. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.




2. Remove the instrument panel (IP) upper trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the fasteners (2) that secure the defroster grille to the IP carrier.
4. Partially remove the defroster grille in order to disconnect the sunload sensors from the defroster grille. Refer to Sunload and Twilight Sentinel Sensor Replacement Service and Repair
5. Remove the defroster grille (3).



Installation Procedure





1. Connect the electrical connectors and install the sunload sensors to the defroster grille. Refer to Sunload and Twilight Sentinel Sensor Replacement Service and Repair
2. Align the defroster grille (3) with the IP carrier.

Notice: Refer toFastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the defroster grille fasteners (2).

Tighten the defroster grille fasteners to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

4. Install the IP upper trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. Enable the SIR. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
