Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the upper filler panel. Refer to Filler Panel Replacement - Upper (Filler Panel Replacement - Upper) .
3. Remove the fasteners securing the hood latch (2) to the hood latch support (1).




4. Remove the hood latch (2) from the hood latch support.
5. Disconnect the hood release cable (1) from the hood latch (2).



Installation Procedure





1. Connect the hood release cable (1) to the hood latch (2).




2. Install the hood latch (2) to the hood latch support (1).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the fasteners in order to secure the hood latch (2) to the hood latch support (1).

Tighten the fasteners to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

4. Slowly lower the hood and check the hood latch for the proper alignment.
5. Adjust the hood latch as necessary. Refer to Hood Latch Adjustment (Adjustments) .
6. Install the upper filler panel. Refer to Filler Panel Replacement - Upper (Filler Panel Replacement - Upper) .
7. Close the hood.
