Rear Door Removal and Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Open the front and the rear doors.
2. Separate the door wire harness conduit (1) from the connector.
3. Remove the intermediate hinge bolts (1) from both hinges.




4. Disconnect the door wire harness from the body wire harness.




5. Remove the check link cover (2) at the center pillar.




6. Remove the check link studs from the center pillar.
7. With the aid of an assistant, lift the door in order to remove.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. With the aid of an assistant, align the door hinge halves.
2. Lower the door so the hinge halves mate together.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

IMPORTANT: Use LOCTITE(R) Blue, GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent prior to installing the bolts.

3. Install the intermediate door hinge bolts (1).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).




4. Position the check link arm to the pillar.
5. Install the check link studs to the center pillar.

Tighten
Tighten the check link bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

6. Touch up any damage to the intermediate rear door hinge fasteners with body color paint.




7. Install the check link cover (2) at the pillar.




8. Install the wiring conduit over the door wire harness connector.




9. Connect the door wire harness to the body wire harness.
10. Check the door for proper adjustment. Refer to Door Adjustment
