Front Side Door Bottom Auxiliary Sealing Strip Replacement

J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover


Removal Procedure





1. Open the door.
2. Using the J 38778 remove the retainer (3) securing the bottom edge of the weather-strip (1) to the rocker panel molding.
3. Gently pull the auxiliary strip (1) in order to disengage the retainers (2) from the B-pillar.



Installation Procedure





1. Using water, dampen the molded retainer pins (2) on the backside of the weather-strip (1) in order to ease installation.
2. Position the auxiliary sealing strip to the B-pillar.
3. Start at the top of the auxiliary strip. Install the retainer pins to the B-pillar.
4. Secure the auxiliary strip (1) to the rocker panel molding using the push-in retainer (3).
5. Tuck the top edge of the auxiliary strip (1) under the end cap of the quarter window molding.
6. Close the door.
