Cruise Release Switch Adjustment
IMPORTANT: Do not depress the brake pedal during adjustment procedure.
NOTE: Proper stoplamp switch adjustment is essential. Improper stoplamp switch adjustment could cause brake drag and excessive brake lining wear.
1. Insert the release switch (2) into the retainer until fully seated against the brake pedal arm.
2. Twist the switch in order to lock the switch into position.
Measure
Measure the distance from the end of the barrel on the switch to the pedal arm, assure clearance is 1.5 mm to 1.7 mm (1/l6 in). If not perform steps 1 and 2 again.
Measure
The following pedal travel statement can be used to check for proper adjustment of the release switches.
^ Release switch assemblies must be closed at 3.5 to 12.5 mm (1/8 to 1/2 in) brake pedal travel, measured at the centerline of the brake pedal assembly.
^ Nominal actuation of the release assembly contacts is about 4.5 mm (3/16 in).
