Power Seat Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




TOOLS REQUIRED
J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Service Precautions in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the front bucket seat.
3. Remove the knobs from the switch.




4. Remove the switch trim plate bezel.




5. Peel the front seat cushion cover up in order to expose the switch.
6. Using the J 38778 remove the switch bracket retainers.




7. Release the locking tabs on the bracket, and remove the bracket from the seat bottom.




8. Remove the switch from the bracket.
9. Disconnect the electrical connector from the switch.




INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the electrical connector to the switch.
2. Install the switch into the switch bracket.




3. Install the bracket the with the switch into the seat bottom.




4. Install the switch bracket retainers into the seat bottom.




5. Pull the seat cover back down over the switch and align holes in the cover to the switch assembly.




6. Install the switch trim plate bezel.
7. Install the knobs on the switch.
8. Install the front bucket seat.
9. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
