Front Defrost

The A/C compressor is turned on if the ambient temperature is above 4°C (39°F) and runs to keep the evaporator core at about 3°C (37°F). The DIM module monitors the evaporator core temperature.

The control head illuminates the front defrost LED. The Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM) determines the proper air discharge temperatures and positions the temperature valves accordingly.

The blower motor pulls air into the system. The outside air is cooled, dehumidified, and heated. The windshield defroster outlet delivers the adjusted air. The floor outlet discharges a small amount of the adjusted air.

The recirc function is not available during front defrost mode.
