Keyless Entry System Diagnosis
DTC B1007 EEPROM Write Error:
DTC B1007 EEPROM Write Error:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module performs internal tests on the EEPROM each time the RKE module performs a write function to the EEPROM. The RKE module reads back the data that has been written and compares it to the data that was written.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING DTC
The data read back after a write does not match the data being written after three consecutive attempts.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
The RKE module stores a DTC B1007 as current. No driver warning message is displayed for this DTC. The RKE module stores the value being written in a different memory address in the EEPROM.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING DTC
The RKE module no longer detects an internal write malfunction. A history DTC will clear after 50 consecutive ignition cycles if the condition for the malfunction is no longer present.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
The EEPROM cannot be removed from the RKE module.
TEST DESCRIPTION
The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table:
2. Clear all DTCs and remove and restore battery voltage to check that the DTC did not falsely set.
