Rear Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the drivers door. When operated, the Express Down feature allows the door window to drop very quickly, which could cause personal injury.




1. Lower the window half way down in order to gain access to the window retainer clamp bolts (1).
2. Remove the door trim panel.
3. Remove the water deflector.
4. Loosen the window retainer clamp bolts.

IMPORTANT: You may need to use masking tape in order to hold the window into place while removing the regulator.

5. Slide the window to the full up position.
6. Loosen the 2 captured bolts (2).
7. Remove the 3 remaining bolts (3).
8. Disconnect the electrical connector from the motor.
9. Slide the window regulator upward in order to release the 2 captured bolts from the keyhole slots.
10. Remove the window regulator.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the window regulator into the door.
2. Locate the 2 captured bolts (2) into the keyhole slots.
3. Slide the regulator downward to engage the 2 captured bolts.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions

4. Install the 3 remaining window regulator bolts (3).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

5. Connect the window motor electrical connector.
6. Slide the window down into the window retainer clamps.

Tighten
Tighten the window retainer clamp bolts to 11 N.m (98 lb in).

7. Install the water deflector.
8. Install the door trim panel.
