Front Door: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Mark the location of the hinges (upper and lower) on the door.
2. Remove the door trim panel.
3. Remove the water deflector.
4. Remove the check link arm from the door hinge pillar.
5. Disconnect the electrical connections to the door wiring harness.
6. Remove the rubber conduit and the wiring harness from the door.
7. Support the door.
8. Remove the hinge-to-door nuts.
9. Remove the door with aid from an assistant.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the door to the hinges with aid from an assistant.

IMPORTANT: When installing the door to the hinge, you may need to hold the stud plate from falling onto the door until the nuts are installed.

2. Install the hinge-to-door nuts.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Locate the marks on the door and tighten the nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the hinge-to-door nuts to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).

4. Route the wiring harness and the conduit into the door.
5. Connect the door wiring harness electrical connectors.
6. Install the check link arm to the door hinge pillar.
7. Install the water deflector.
8. Install the door trim panel.
