Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disable SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.
2. Remove the Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement.
3. Remove the steering wheel.
4. Remove the upper steering column cover screw caps.
5. Remove the steering column cover screws.
6. Remove the steering column cover.
7. Remove the steering wheel tilt lever.
8. Remove the rubber protective cover from the ignition lock cylinder.
9. Remove the lower steering column cover screws.
10. Remove the lower steering column cover.
11. Disconnect the Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil wiring harness connector.
12. Remove the Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil.

INSTALLATION
1. Center the Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil before installing it to the steering column shaft.
2. Install the Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil.
3. Connect the Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil wiring harness connector.
4. Install the lower steering column cover.
5. Install the lower steering column cover screws.
6. Install the rubber protective cover to the ignition lock cylinder.
7. Install the steering wheel tilt lever.
8. Install the upper steering column cover.
9. Install the upper steering column cover screws.
10. Install the upper steering column cover screw caps.
11. Install the steering wheel.
12. Install the Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement.
13. Enable SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System.
