Front Camber Adjustment

Make the front camber adjustments by positioning the lower strut mount on the steering knuckle.
The steps outlined in this procedure are general requirements for properly setting the front camber.
The alignment equipment varies in design and capabilities, therefore consult with the equipment manufacturer's guidelines prior to setting this angle.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise and support the vehicle.

Caution: To help avoid personal injury when a vehicle is on a hoist, provide additional support for the vehicle at the opposite end from which components are being removed. This will reduce the possibility of the vehicle falling off the hoist.

2. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly.

3. Remove the brake caliper bolts.
4. Remove the brake caliper and suspend the brake caliper.

5. Remove the lower strut mounting bolts.
6. Install new lower strut mounting bolts from the front toward the rear of the vehicle. The lower strut mounting bolts use the angular-torque method of tightening, therefore these bolts become stretched and require replacement.
- Tighten the new lower strut mounting bolts to approximately 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) so the clamping effect is initiated. Tighten the bolts to specifications after making the final adjustments.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

7. Clean the brake caliper mounting threads in the steering knuckle in order to remove any residual locking compound.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the brake calipers.
2. Coat new brake caliper mounting bolts with 272 Threadlocker, GM P/N 12345493 or equivalent.
3. Install the new brake caliper mounting bolts.
- Tighten the brake caliper mounting bolts to 95 Nm (70 ft. lbs.) + 37°.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the tire and wheel assembly.

5. Adjust the front camber to the proper setting.
- Tighten the lower strut bolts to 90 Nm (56 ft. lbs.) + 53°.
