Lateral Accelerometer: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Remove the rear seat cushion.
3. Remove the two lateral accelerometer sensor mounting nuts.
4. Disconnect the lateral accelerometer sensor electrical connector.
5. Remove the lateral accelerometer sensor from the mounting studs.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

1. Install the lateral accelerometer sensor onto the mounting studs.
^ Tighten the two lateral accelerometer sensor nuts to 2.4 Nm (21 in. lbs.).

2. Connect the lateral accelerometer sensor electrical connector.
3. Install the rear seat cushion.
4. Perform the Diagnostic System Check. Refer to Diagnostic System Check.
