REMOVAL PROCEDUREHinge Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid: Removal Procedure:
Tools Required
J41358-1 Torque Rod Adjuster.
1. Open the rear compartment lid.
2. Remove the rear compartment lid.
3. Remove the rear seat cushion.
4. Remove the rear seat back.
5. Remove the rear shelf panel.
6. Note adjuster notch that torque rod is in for reassembly.
Hinge Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid: Removal Procedure:
7. Remove the torque rods using J41358-1 Torque Rod Adjuster.
8. Remove the nuts (1) retaining the forward edge of the rear compartment lid hinge (3) to the vehicle.
9. Remove the bolts (2) retaining the rear edge of the rear compartment lid hinge (3) to the vehicle.
10. Remove the rear compartment lid hinge.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
Hinge Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid: Installation Procedure:
1. Install the rear compartment lid hinge.
2. Install the nuts (1) to retain the forward edge of the rear compartment lid hinge (3) to the vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
3. Install the bolts (2) to retain the rear edge of the rear compartment lid hinge (3) to the vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
Hinge Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid: Installation Procedure:
4. Install the torque rods using J41358-1 Torque Rod Adjuster.
5. Install the rear compartment lid.
6. Check and adjust the rear compartment lid for the following:
^ Fore and aft adjustment at the rear compartment lid hinge attachments.
^ Up and down adjustment at rear compartment lid latch, striker and hinges.
^ Torque rod free rise of the rear compartment lid.
7. Install the rear shelf panel.
8. Install the rear seat back.
9. Install the rear seat cushion.
10. Close the rear compartment lid.
