Front Door: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDUREDoor Replacement (Front): Removal Procedure:
1. Mark the location of the hinges (upper and lower) on the door.
2. Remove the door trim panel.
3. Remove the water deflector.
4. Remove the check link arm from the door hinge pillar.
5. Disconnect the electrical connections to door wiring harness.
6. Remove the rubber conduit and wiring harness from the door.
7. Support the door.
Door Replacement (Front): Removal Procedure:
8. Remove the hinge-to-door nuts.
9. Remove the door with aid from a helper.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
Door Replacement (Front): Installation Procedure:
1. Install the hinges to the body.
2. Install the door to the hinges with aid from a helper.
IMPORTANT: When installing the door to the hinge, it may be necessary to hold the stud plate from tailing into the door until the nuts are installed.
Door Replacement (Front): Installation Procedure:
3. Install the hinge-to-door nuts.
4. Locate the marks on the door and tighten the nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the hinge-to-door nuts to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).
5. Route the wiring harness and conduit into the door.
6. Connect the door wiring harness electrical connectors.
7. Install the check link arm to the door hinge pillar.
8. Install the water deflector.
9. Install the door trim panel.
