Front Bumper: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Impact Bar Replacement - Front Bumper: Removal Procedure:

1. Open the hood.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
3. Remove the front bumper fascia.
4. Remove the bolts (2) retaining the front bumper impact bar (1).
5. Remove the front bumper impact bar (1).

6. Remove the nut (1) retaining the rear of the front bumper impact bar bracket (3).
7. Remove the nuts (2) retaining the front of the front bumper impact bar bracket (3).
8. Remove the front bumper impact bar bracket (3) from the vehicle.

Impact Bar Replacement - Front Bumper: Removal Procedure:

9. Remove the stud plate retainer (2) from the stud plate (1).
10. Remove the stud plate (1) from the body.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Impact Bar Replacement - Front Bumper: Installation Procedure:

1. Install the stud plate (1) to the body.
2. Install the stud plate retainer (2) to the stud plate (1).

3. Install the front bumper impact bar bracket (3) to the vehicle.
4. Install the nut (1) to retain the rear of the front bumper impact bar bracket (3).

Tighten
Tighten the nut to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

5. Install the nuts (2) to retain the front of the front bumper impact bar bracket (3).

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

6. Install the front bumper impact bar (1).
7. Install the bolts (2) to retain the front bumper impact bar (1).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

8. Install the front bumper fascia.
9. Lower the vehicle.
10. Close the hood.
