Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Remove the hood latch bracket.
2. Drain the engine coolant.
3. Remove the headlamps.
4. Remove the condenser mounting bolts.
5. Remove the radiator brackets.
6. Disconnect the upper engine oil cooler hose from the radiator.
7. Remove the air cleaner.
8. Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the radiator.
9. Tilt the radiator forward.
10. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the cooling fans.
11. Disconnect the generator inlet cooler hose from the radiator.
12. Remove the cooling fan assembly from the radiator.
13. Remove the radiator.
14. Remove the fan retaining nut (5) from the motors (2).
15. Remove the fan (4) from the motor shaft
16. Remove the motor retaining screws (3).
17. Remove the motor (2) from the shroud (1).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the motor (2) to the shroud (1).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the motor retaining screws (3).
Tighten the fan motor mounting screws to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
3. Install the fan (4) to the motor shaft
4. Install the fan retaining nut (5) to the motors (2).
Tighten the fan retaining nut to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
5. Install the cooling fan assembly to the radiator.
6. Install the radiator to vehicle.
7. Connect the generator inlet cooler line to the radiator.
8. Connect the electrical connectors to the cooling fans.
9. Connect the lower radiator hose to the engine.
10. Install the air cleaner.
11. Connect the upper engine oil cooler hose to the radiator.
12. Install the radiator brackets.
13. Install the condenser mounting bolts. Tighten the condenser mounting bolts to 13 Nm (10 ft. lbs.).
14. Install the hood latch bracket.
15. Install the headlamps.
16. Fill the cooling system.
